There are two entrances to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park within a ten-minute drive. They offer fabulous hiking, panoramic vistas, waterfalls, tubing and fly-fishing. 

Within walking distance are the Great Smoky Mountain Railway Depot, shopping and exploring in Bryson City. You may want to visit Island Park in the middle of the Tuckaseigee River.

Asheville with its nightlife, shopping, sports and the historical Biltmore Estate is within an hours drive.

Water skiing and game fishing for Pike and Walleye at Lake Fontana are 20 minutes away.

Rafting and kayaking on America’s most popular white water river; the Nantahala is just 15 minutes away. Tsali Recreational Area, known for some of the best mountain biking trails in the country is 15 minutes away.

It’s just 10 miles to the attractions of the Cherokee Indian Reservation including Harrah’s Casino, the "Unto These Hills" outdoor drama and historical museums of the Cherokee.
